Both incidents took place in Stamford during the early morning hours of Friday, Oct. 11, said the Stamford Police Department.
Video from the first business to be targeted -- the BevMax Store at 835 East Main St.,-- show a black man attempt to gain entry into the store by breaking the door locks.
After he failed to get inside the story, the same man then went to the El Charrito Restaurant at 1019 East Main St., in which he gained entry and stole several items, police said.
A dark-colored SUV was used in both crimes, police added.
